EXECUTIVE SEARCH & INTERIM MANAGERS

 

 

Executive search (as distinct from advertised recruitment) is most     effective when targeted at professionals at the first tier – managing directors, executive directors, general managers – and functional heads in finance, operations, IT, supply chain, R&D, and human resources, because:

 

·        Individuals at this level are unlikely to respond to job advertisements, even if there is an interest, primarily for reasons of confidentiality.

·        The roles they are recruited for are likely to have an impact on the top line and bottom line, or both, of the organization. The cost of a wrong hire, therefore, can be very high and may last beyond the departure of the incumbent.

·        The compensation package required to attract them may have to be tailored to the specific role and scope of responsibility or accountability. In some instances board approval may be required. In Asia, the compensation numbers can range from USD200,000 to USD500,000 or even higher, depending on the industry.

·        The decision to find someone of the required seniority usually require the involvement and concurrence or agreement of the top management team, or even the board of directors.

  • Retainer Search 

In return for exclusivity in handling the search assignment together with payment of a retainer, CLYDE offers the client complete accountability and a high rate of success of 90%. We can maintain this claim simply on the basis that we would only accept assignments we can successfully accomplish.

Exclusivity and accountability ensures total control of the process especially where the right approach is crucial and confidentiality is likely to affect the successful outcome of the recruitment or where a high degree of sensitivity is involved – such as the replacement of a non-performing senior executive.

  • Contingency Search

Where clients have identified a potential candidate or developed internally a slate of candidates and wish to compare with what’s available externally but do not wish to incur the cost of a full-blown search, CLYDE offers to identify and refer one or two potential candidates who are interested and match the client’s given requirements. In this instance, a fee is payable only upon placement of our candidate.

 

 

  • Reference Checking

CLYDE offers both Confirmatory Reference Checking and Confidential Reference Checking. Confirmatory checks covers company and personal referees, educational and professional institutions given by prospective employees in their resume.

 

Confidential checks covers confidential sources developed by CLYDE to corroborate other aspects of the prospective employee not normally covered in the Confirmatory checks.

 

  • Interim Managers

As a service closely related to the search for senior executives, CLYDE also assists clients with their needs for Interim Managers. Unlike executive “temps”, Interim Managers are seasoned executives with general management, senior functional, or technical experience, contracted for their expertise to execute specific projects within an agreed time frame – usually from a few months to a year.
